Warranty Information
Everything you need to know about roofing warranties
Our Installation Warranty
We offer a 15-year transferable installation warranty on our Goodman Signature Roof. To qualify, the roof must use new 75-year warranted natural slate, clay tile, or copper panels, with ice and water membrane covering the entire deck, and new copper or zinc gutters and downspouts. When every part of the system is built to last, we’re proud to stand behind it.
This means:
If something fails due to how it was installed, we’ll make it right
The warranty stays valid if the home changes ownership
You won’t be dealing with loopholes or fine print
We build carefully so you rarely need the warranty but we’re proud to back it up.
Free annual inspections for the first 5 years
Disclaimer: This warranty applies only to full, new roofing systems, not repairs or partial projects. Salvage materials, lift-and-relays, or pieced-together systems don’t meet this standard.
Material Warranties: What They Are and Aren’t
Most roofing products come with a manufacturer warranty on materials. These warranties typically cover defects in the product itself but not how it was installed or how it performs on your roof.
Important to know:
A material warranty only holds up if the roof is installed correctly. Manufacturers will void a warranty if the wrong products are used or if the right ones are mixed incorrectly. That includes combining different brands for field shingles, starter courses, underlayments, ridge caps, or ventilation.
Claims can also be denied for improper fasteners, using galvanized metals alongside copper, or relying on hardware store flashing that doesn’t meet code. Under-ventilation alone is enough to void coverage on many systems. It takes technical precision to build a roof that meets both structural and manufacturer standards. We follow the specs exactly, because that’s what protects your investment. Choosing the right roofer can be the difference between a successful warranty claim and being left without coverage when you need it.

Using Non-Certified Installers - Installing the roof with workers or companies not officially approved or trained by the manufacturer. Ignoring Manufacturer Instructions - Not following the exact installation guidelines provided by the roofing product manufacturer. Combining Mismatched Roofing Materials - Mixing roofing components (like tiles, underlayment, or flashing) from different manufacturers or types that aren’t meant to be used together. Improper Nail or Fastener Placement - Using the wrong type, size, or placement of nails or fasteners, causing leaks, uplift issues, or premature failure. Poor Storage and Handling of Materials - Storing slate, tile, or shingles improperly, or damaging them during handling, leading to cracks, breaks, or defects before they’re even installed. Inadequate Roof Ventilation - Failing to provide proper attic or roof ventilation, resulting in trapped moisture, mold growth, and premature roof degradation. Installing Over Weak or Unsuitable Structures - Placing heavy slate or tile on roof structures not designed or reinforced to handle their weight, causing structural issues. Wrong Flashing Installation - Using incompatible metals, incorrect flashing sizes, or improper sealing techniques around chimneys, walls, valleys, or roof penetrations. Delayed or Missing Warranty Registration - Not submitting required warranty paperwork or registering your roofing system within the manufacturer’s specified timeline. Neglecting Required Maintenance - Failing to perform regular inspections and maintenance as specified by your roofing materials manufacturer, resulting in preventable issues and warranty cancellation. |
